Draft, for counsel review. This has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.

What we collect

When you upload a bill, we collect the file itself, your email address, and whatever the bill contains: your utility account information, service address, usage and charges.

When you create an account, we collect your name, business name, and contact details. When you link a bank account, a payment processor collects your bank details directly; we store only the last four digits and the bank name.

When you browse the marketing site, our analytics tools may collect your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit.

How we use it

We use your bill and account information to audit your utility charges, prepare and file a claim on your behalf when you've authorized us to, and communicate with you about that work.

A bill you send us may be sent to a third-party AI service to read the charges off it, under an agreement that keeps it out of that vendor's training data. We never send your full account number to that service or any other third party without masking it first.

We use website analytics to understand which pages are useful and to measure whether an advertisement led to a visit.

Cookies and similar technology

The marketing site uses Google Analytics (GA4) and, where enabled, a Google Ads conversion tag. These set cookies that let those services recognize a returning visitor and measure ad performance. We do not use them to build an advertising profile of you beyond what those services do by default.

Your account pages do not run third-party analytics or advertising scripts.

Your privacy choices

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt you out of any sale or sharing of your personal information for advertising, to the extent that applies to our use of analytics and advertising cookies.

You can also ask us directly, at any time, to tell you what we hold about you or to delete it. From your account settings you can download your data or request deletion; if you don't have an account, email us and we'll handle it by hand.

How long we keep it

A bill you upload without creating an account is deleted, along with our summary of it, after 30 days if you never claim it.

Once you have an account, we keep your records for as long as your account is open and for the period our own recordkeeping and legal obligations require after that.

Who we share it with

We share what's necessary with your utility, when you've authorized us to act on your behalf. We share what's necessary with the vendors that run our infrastructure (hosting, storage, e-signature, payments, and the AI service described above), under agreements that limit what they can do with it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
